The Adelaide 36ers have finalised their roster, signing US import Ramone Moore on a one year deal for the 2017-18 NBL season.
The 193cm shooting guard from Philadelphia played in European Leagues in Lithuania, Ukraine, Hungary, Italy and Israel before being recruited to Melbourne United last year.
Moore averaged 10.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game for United in a total of 20 games before injuring his calf.
The 28-year-old, who played for the Chicago Bulls at the 2012 NBA Summer League, can’t wait to join his 36ers’ teammates in Adelaide.
“It feels great to join the 36ers. I’ve heard nothing but great things about the coaching staff, the city and the players. I’m just excited to get to work pretty soon and to play for Adelaide this season and hopefully many more years to come,” Moore said.
The former Temple University player is determined to ensure the 36ers go all the way in the 2017-18 season.
“My hopes this season is to be the best team possible. I know Joey and the staff will prepare us as best they can and at the end of the season hopefully we will be holding up a trophy and bringing Adelaide it’s 5th ever NBL title,” Moore said.
Adelaide 36ers coach Joey Wright is thrilled to have Moore in his team.
“We watched him throughout the year and we, as a coaching staff, were very excited when he came onto the market because we thought he was one of the better imports in the league,” Wright said.
Wright, who kept a close eye on Moore last season, described him as a multi-purpose player who brings versatility to both ends of the floor.
“He has a great ability to do multiple things on the court as far as shooting, dribbling, passing, and his attention to detail and his attention on defence.
“We haven’t really talked to an import that early before, but we were really excited at the possibility to get him on board, just because he’s so multi skilled and he’s such a great person,” Wright said.
Moore will arrive in Adelaide on Tuesday, 15 August.
